Teddy Jacket

The Teddy reinterprets the American varsity jacket entirely in leather: goat suede body, contrasting plongé lambskin panels, snap-button closure. The play of the two materials is everything — and you choose it when you order.

Every piece is Made in France, made to order in our Paris workshop. Production takes 4 to 6 weeks — not because it's slow, but because every leather jacket is unique.

"I had been following the publications for some time and was eagerly awaiting my trip to Paris to see the pieces in person. The experience confirmed all the good things I had heard. The leathers are remarkable, both high-end, ethical, and respectful. The jackets and blousons are characterized by a sleek, elegant, and timeless style, with an exceptional level of finish down to the lining. An address I recommend without reservation."

"I discovered Atelier Bertrand while looking for THE JACKET, that special piece, the one that has that little something extra. I've been buying leather jackets for over 25 years: Schott, Chevignon, Redskins... I just bought my 4th jacket, it's incredible, the leather really catches the light. The quality is magnificent. Jérôme is passionate and helpful. I'm not looking anymore..."

"I was looking for a quality leather jacket in a color other than black. I came across a military green plonge lambskin one and fell in love with it. The leather felt incredibly soft, something I had never experienced before, and I've received many compliments. Jérôme gives excellent advice."

"In my search for a sleek and chic perfecto-style jacket, I met Jérôme who was able to create the jacket I had in mind. No chest zipper, but instead a blazer-style chest pocket for this brown perfecto that I love to wear."

Questions about this model

FAQ

What defines a teddy jacket?

The teddy is inspired by American varsity jackets: a short cut, snap-button fastening, and often a play of two materials or two colours. In leather, it keeps that sportswear spirit while moving upmarket.

Can I choose the colours and the contrast?

Yes. The model is shown in black suede with off-white plongé lambskin panels, but you choose the colours of both the body and the panels. We create the contrast you want, from more than 120 colours.

Are the panels in a different leather?

Yes, it is a play of materials: the body is in suede and the panels in plongé lambskin. This mix gives the teddy all its character. It can also be made in a single leather if you prefer a more understated version.

Where is this teddy jacket made?

It is made to order in our Paris workshop. Small-batch production ensures consistent finishing and a fit adjusted to your lengths.

What is the price, and can I try it on?

The customisable teddy is €1,470. Book an appointment at our showroom, 31 Passage Verdeau, Paris 9th, to see the leathers, try on the models and have your measurements taken.

How do I care for suede leather?

Brush suede with a suede brush to revive the nap and protect it with a suitable waterproofing spray. It dislikes water and grease stains. Well cared for, it keeps its velvety feel for a long time.
