Tailored Coat

The Tailored Coat is the longest piece in the collection: three horn buttons, notch lapels, a fitted cut. Cut in leather, it takes more hides and more workshop hours than our jackets.

Every piece is Made in France, made to order in our Paris workshop. Production takes 4 to 6 weeks, because every leather piece is unique.

"I had been following the publications for some time and was eagerly awaiting my trip to Paris to see the pieces in person. The experience confirmed all the good things I had heard. The leathers are remarkable, both high-end, ethical, and respectful. The jackets and blousons are characterized by a sleek, elegant, and timeless style, with an exceptional level of finish down to the lining. An address I recommend without reservation."

"I discovered Atelier Bertrand while looking for THE JACKET, that special piece, the one that has that little something extra. I've been buying leather jackets for over 25 years: Schott, Chevignon, Redskins... I just bought my 4th jacket, it's incredible, the leather really catches the light. The quality is magnificent. Jérôme is passionate and helpful. I'm not looking anymore..."

"I was looking for a quality leather jacket in a color other than black. I came across a military green plonge lambskin one and fell in love with it. The leather felt incredibly soft, something I had never experienced before, and I've received many compliments. Jérôme gives excellent advice."

"In my search for a sleek and chic perfecto-style jacket, I met Jérôme who was able to create the jacket I had in mind. No chest zipper, but instead a blazer-style chest pocket for this brown perfecto that I love to wear."

Questions about this model

FAQ

What defines the Tailored Coat?

The Tailored Coat is a long leather piece with a fitted, tailored cut, fastened with three horn buttons, with flap or piped pockets as you prefer. Shown in black plongé lambskin, it can be made in the leather and colour of your choice.

How do I choose my size for the Tailored Coat?

The cut is fitted, with a coat length. Take your usual size. As each piece is made to order, we adjust the overall length, body and sleeves with you when you order.

How do I care for the Tailored Coat?

It depends on the leather chosen. Plongé lambskin should be nourished with a leather lotion once or twice a year; deerskin and goat suede are brushed. Avoid prolonged exposure to damp, and the leather will develop a patina over time.

Can the Tailored Coat be customised?

Yes. It is available in all our leathers and more than 120 colours; it is shown here in black plongé lambskin, with flap or piped pockets as you prefer. Come and see the leathers at the showroom to create yours.

Where is the Tailored Coat made, and how long does it take?

It is made to order in our workshop in the heart of Paris. Allow 4 to 6 weeks between order and delivery — the time it takes to select the hide and assemble the piece to your lengths.

What is the price of the Tailored Coat, and can I try it on?

The customisable Tailored Coat is €2,200. You can try it on and have your measurements taken by appointment at our showroom, 31 Passage Verdeau, Paris 9th.
